Position notice

Verdict: hired as The Analog Holdout.
The Analog Holdout
No subscription, no outages, no update notes. Just a brain that remembers who said what in that meeting.
The position
WANTED: one steady hand in a world of autocomplete. You read the whole document, attachments included. You remember the meeting last spring where we agreed the exact opposite. You draft in a notebook that has survived three reorgs and a coffee incident. You are not against the AI; you simply haven't met a problem you couldn't think through yourself. The successful candidate will be the person everyone calls when the tools are down, the wifi is out and somebody needs to actually know things.
Strengths
- Actually opens the attachment
- Understands the problem before reaching for any tool
- Completely unbothered by outages, pricing changes and "new and improved"
Red flags
- Will hand-type a table that could have been generated while they found a ruler
- Has said "we managed fine before" at least once this week
Ideal role
Keeper of Institutional Memory, with a stationery budget
Natural rival
The Prompt Whisperer thinks you're leaving speed on the table. You suspect they've started asking the AI what they think.
Interview question to ask one of these
"Tell me about a task where a tool would have been faster. What did you gain by doing it yourself, and would you do it the same way again?"
